"A collaborative, creative fashion studio where daily design meets painstaking production, alongside monthly events, discussions and workshops." That's how Christopher Raeburn describes his world. And what an intriguing world it is.

With his industry-leading Remade, Recycled and Reuse ethos Christopher Raeburn is changing the way fashion works. "This has to be me to be about a design-led focus. It's not about me getting up on a soap box and preaching to people."

Said Luke Leitch reviewing the AUTUMN '18 show on Vogue.com: "The only thing not reduced, reused, or remade in this Christopher Raeburn experience was the urgent sense of what an in-his-stride, totally relevant designer he has become."

Wendy Dagworthy

Wendy Dagworthy

Wendy Dagworthy is a British designer and design education legend. She retired form the Royal College of Art in 2014, having taught Raeburn, Stella McCartney, Hussein Chalayan and Erdem Moraliogu. Her advice to young designers? "Have confidence in what you do and be true to yourself," she said. "Don't follow others or be blinded by any of it - it's not all champagne; you need to be prepared for hard work. You need to be dedicated, but it doesn't have to be your whole life. Keep your feet on the ground and remember, fashion isn't everything." Read the full Vogue story here.

14 million people in the UK watched BLUE PLANET II, including Christopher and his team.

According to US Vogue, 2017 was the year that sustainability got sexy. "Until a few years ago, sustainability rarely came up in the greater fashion conversation, but in 2017, you’d be an outlier if you weren’t paying attention," writes Emily Farra.

THE POP ZOO AND THE MASCOTS

Christopher's fabric mascot menagerie is much loved. Each season he designs a new animal that sits alongside his collection, and is worked into bags and accessories - all made from fabric offcuts. He has taken the zoo on the road and presented pop up workshops in his REMADE HQ, allowing visitors to make their own upcycled friends.

"I NEVER SET OUT TO START A SUSTAINABLE COMPANY. WHAT I SET OUT TO DO WAS FOLLOW MY PASSION FOR FUNCTIONAL CLOTHING, UTILITY, ARCHEOLOGY, MY LOVE OF HISTORY. WHEN YOU PUT THAT TOGETHER WITH AN INTEREST IN HIGH QUALITY ITEMS, [and] SOMETHING UNIQUE, YOU INHERENTLY HAVE SOMETHING SUSTAINABLE - REUSING MATERIALS, PRODUCING LOCALLY [AND BUILDING ON CRAFT AND QUALITY." - Christopher Raeburn
